This may not be a good idea. In most places, GFCIs are required by state electrical code in new
construction. Removing them could introduce you the law of unforeseen consequences which never is
positive in ones favor. AKA homeowners insurance.
I agree about the over hype of GFCI efficacy. You now have to put in "arc fault interrupters" for
bedroom circuits (costing a bloody fortune) to prevent "fires". Apparently the geniuses behind
this bird brained idea never read the NFPA stats on the results of smoking in bed.
