I was working on the fact that many of the Allied tubes are National
brand labels of imports, but didn't actually know about their 12AX7's.
Sometimes National branded tubes are really NOS made in the USA from the
60's or 70's or 80's.

I'm not so sure now: the picture in their catalog of a 12AX7 is late
70's GE production, which almost certainly would've been made in the US.
May be irrelevant because their stock is currently zero!
