With the chicken wire unravel part of it and bring this length of wire
above ground to make your connections to the antenna.
As for grounding go to Polyphaser they wrote the book on it.

I have found plain old #6, or #8 steel rebar works great for grounding
rods, and you can find this stuff at a metal scrap yard for cheap.
