Sure you can fix the filters. Fellows have been doing one off for them selves 
for years. The Guys at Fair Radio have been doing quite a few to meet sales 
needs.

If you can find the old part it is likely repairable.

Redoing the resonate slug stack looks like a lost cause.
But open coils can be rewound and broken wires fixed.

Likely you can buy dead filters and fix a few.
We sure would thank you for taking the time and effort.

Not something that will make you wealthy but will make you a bit wiser.

Sure hope you keep asking for filters once a month or so.

$5.00 and postage for dead one sounds fair.
