Don't worry listers..... I  sorted the removal  problem by just  doing
it....Undo the   nuts, desolder the connections  and  away it
comes--- you've  got to  take the RF module out  first tho'

Incidentally, problem  appears to be dry joint on the  5000pf by pass
and a manufacturing error wherein  excess  solder on the internal
connection formed  big  enough blob to intermittently short to the
xfmr  case.
That's the  theory and reassembly  will put it  to the  test.
