[R-390] Chuck Rippel incommunicado?

I wrote an e-mail to Chuck about my R-390A's RF deck and never got a reply. 
Then I send him a letter with SASE, and got no reply to that either.

I'm thinking about getting C603 and C606 refurbished per his website; but 
since he doesn't answer my communications, what's the use? Is he very busy 
or gone from his QTH a lot?

Does anyone on this reflector know?
