[R-390] audio gone dead ...

hello all,
first off thank y'all for such a wonderful resource
and for the opportunity to maybe get a problem solved.
i read the reflector every day ...

had my 67' eac running for the evening when audio
suddenly went dead. i run radio out of diode load
(preamp and amplifier tubes removed) into a seperate
amp of course.

carrier meter was still reading signals as well as
calibrator tones across all bands.

plugged preamp/output tubes back into af deck to check
audio that way. via headphones with volume full up
there's a slight hum. when i turn limiter ON i can
faintly hear signals etc ...

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
