Sheesh, untested for over $2,000?  These were available tested from the
usual suspects for $100-150 as recently as the early '90s.  And you need to
build a power supply to use it effectively.  (Trust me, you do not want a
dynamotor running in your shack while you're trying to copy weak signals.
For that matter, it pretty much spoils the joy of listening to a nice
strong broadcast station.)
