Tnx for the feedback Paul...

NPL and I started this project over 10 years ago... we figured it would
take a month or two to get going... three at most... hah! We found out
quickly at that time that we were missing some important stuff including a
motor for one of the 391 radios... three full tear downs and various
mechanical issues later found we still had a lot to learn...

Do to our lack of FRR33 electrical information at the time this project was
in process, I discovered the hard way that you just can't create a an 8
position parallel "buss" between the rigs... they will feedback incorrect
position info to each other and become confused...

As pictured the rigs are all set to "remote" and controlled by the thin
panel in the center with the red handled "fire" switch... this simple hb
controller isolates them from each other and allows you to select any of
the 8 positions, all three units spring to life and do what they do
best! A better, more original looking, telephone dial type stepping
controller of vintage telephone components was cobbled together some years
ago for proof of concept... it did what it was supposed to do too but that
effort ran out of steam due to our respective family's needs... this entire
FRR33 project consumed time... lots of family time... so it was scaled back
for kids an wives... if we can't find an original controller, I figure that
telephone dial controller will be reborn as a retirement project...

Finding the coupler, the two r391s and the correct dc supply, repairing it
all and getting it all kitted up was easy compared to finding the remote
control elements...

Even without them, its still been a fun project... been run in diversity
mode with interesting results...

Ott

btw: while all the above was going on I managed to saddle myself with a
thoroughly fubar CV-157... its since been brought to life and my intent is
to kit it up to the FRR33 as a stand alone accessory... preliminary tests
suggests this mating will be technically interesting...
