As I recall, the motor is not on a spring loaded mount and doubt if there 
should normally be enough play for the motor gear to jump over teeth on the 
autotune shaft gear.  For that to happen, the left-most bronze oilite 
bearing(s) have to be worn.  I have one in which they were - -with little 
piles of bronze powder below.  Not sure what happened first.
