My quick and dirty possible solution is to take some wire that
will pass through the fins, putting a 90 degree bend at the bottom of
the wires. Pass the wires down the fins until you can then turn the
wires 90 or some amount so the bend then turns under the fins.
This might allow you to pull up on the tube and lift it out of the socket.
Maybe there is more to the problem, than meets the eye.
