The 12BH7 hasn't enough emission (current capability) to use for a 26Z5w 
replacement.  Besides, the 12BH7 has become a high priced audiophile-coveted 
item, whereas the 12BW4 is desired by almost no one and hence is cheap.

The online article about rewiring the power supply rectifier sockets to 
accept the 12BW4 also mentioned another suitable tube, the 25CT3.
