As a radio repairman from 68-75 I did some things to R390/URRs R390A/URRs 
that I will not even repeat. From these "experiments" I can assure you there is 
no paraffin compound that will soften or dissolve in a petroleum base solvent, 
in the R390 slugs.

I cannot say about other items as I was not subjecting them to "experiments" 
in removing living growths from the interior.
