That has definitely been my experience too. 

I knew one fellow, Lee Pratt, whose fist literally sounded like he was 
sending to music. He was left-handed but taught himself to use his bug 
with his right hand so he could write in his log, etc., while sending.

He had the easiest to copy fist I have ever heard.
