I don't know what the official spec is, but the pins of a 9-pin tube
fit just perfectly into a 1/2" socket (square or hex). And the pins
themselves are the same thickness as 18 gauge wire (0.040" diameter).

So the centers of all the pins are on a circle 0.460" diameter.

I have looked for an official spec on the web but never found it,
never did find it in a tube handbook either.

Note that most PC mount tube sockets have a different pattern
diameter (usually on the outside so larger).

Tim.
