[R-390] Coldheat revisited

I pulled my coldheat soldering pencil out to try to get some use out of it. I was doing some point to point wiring in the RME-45. I must say I was kind of surprised as to how well this thing worked if you use it properly. I found the trick was to make sure the contact LED is lit up before you hit the connection with solder, and that isn't always easy. The solder joints are very clean with a good flow and binding. I am not going to say Coldheat is anywhere near being a replacement for a good soldering station but in a situation where you might have small number of things to solder it might be ok. The bottom line is if you have one give it a try, again, remembering the contact light. If you don't have one spend more and get a proper rechargeable soldering pencil. If you get a ColdHeat for a gift act like you have been waiting for this for hundreds of years. It doesn't
take up much space in the tool box.
