Even if you DO use the break-in feature you should
turn the RF gain down, I still show a half-scale
signal on mine when transmitting with the T-368.

You must be doing something right. The power that escapes from the finals 
of a T-368 lights neon lamps at a 1/2 mile. If you only have a 1/2 scale 
reading,
you must have a very well behaved transmitter.
