[R-390] Question to post

A few non-electronic guesses, 

1 - two 1 mfd caps were cheaper than a 2 mfd?

2 - a shelf full of 1 mfd caps on hand?

3 - the two parallel caps had a lower impedance?
   (oops, that was an electronics answer!)
