To the list, Happy Bunny Day!

I sell things on Ebay. Have around 100 sales. Its my stuff mostly though
some of the Premium RX's I have bought and tried and didn't like I have
turned around and resold.

However saying that it is imperative as a seller to be truthful. Use a full
set of photos. Answer questions postively and give as much history as one
can. When I sold a 3030 Cubic a few years ago I mentioned it came from
Toronto Surplus and it had a scratch pot and otherwise worked fine.

When selling an R 390 an honest person would say where the R390 came from,
who worked on it and when, what mods were or weren't made on it. Mentioning
that Rich or Chuck or some other in the same class had something to do could
only add value. Intelligence Agency Black is the lie that got the goat of
our group. Do we have any spooks on the net that can verify that the NSA,
CIA, DEA ever had black radios?

Considering that Chuck sold a radio a few weeks ago that settled for under $
2K we can pretty much guage the market for 390's from low hundreds for ham
junk to a bit more for Fair Radio blue streaks to the high end rebuilt by
the experts.

So I for one think that the discussion on this list is fair for what is not
said by the owner. When I have bought stuff on Ebay the guys I buy from
answer questions and provide extra pics and aren't travelling during auction
week. Pretty hard to manage and auction and answer questions and pack and
ship if you are "travelling".

Now we boys on this list can get rather snippy about certain stuff but
having watched this list of a couple of years now I don't think this is an
instance. Further any bonafide seller might have heard of us by now and to
further sale of one's R 390/a it would have been pretty easy to send a memo
regarding the radio in question on Ebay and a more definitive discussion. I
would include this list IN on a Sale. That just makes me smarter. AS Lyndon
Johnson said about a fellow he had hired into his administration he didn't
trust' " I would rather have him in pissing out then outside pissing in on
us."

Cheers and 73,

Bill N2WL

Man you guys are brutal, like a shark that got the scent of blood, give the
guy a break, its a good-looking radio and he has a good feedback rating, if
you don't want it don't bid on it. I see this all too often on here, some
of you "hams" will jump on somebody with out knowing half the facts. Lets
get away from the witch hunts and on to more important things, and no, it
isn't my radio and I don't know the guy.
