Interesting.

At least the way I read it he stopped the auction himself rather than 
having it stopped for him by eBay.

He may have gotten an offer at his "buy it now" ($8K) price. Gulp ....

I must admit that it is a pretty front panel. Hard black anodize might 
be an interesting way to go in re-finishing panels. It's about as tough 
as any anodize process. I don't know how that ranks compared to powder 
coat.
