Yup Scott, besides the CY979A cabinet ($820) he also bought a manual set,
bristol set, and antenna input adapters.
Again, nothing wrong with this, but he gives you the *impression* this is
some kind of original pristine package for sale, but in reality it looks
recently put together, and not cheaply either.

I also agree with the other comments about the lack of test data and
detailed restoration info, that is not a good sign.
I wonder what Dr. J's Dr. is in?

But just as there are audiophooles with lots of disposable income to blow,
so are there radiophools and those folks who are just plain wealthy. From my
own limited ham experience I know a few folks who in addition to their ham
equipment collections own large estates, planes, boats, motorcycles, classic
automobiles, and other fun toys. A $3K radio is chicken feed compared to
that stuff.
