Ok, so the power plug needs hot to "A" and Neutral to
"D", ground can be "C", or the case on the plug
itself. "B" goes to that DC fuse holder on the back
panel that isn't connected to anything so I didn't
hook it up at all. I had to modify the radio's plug
with a needle file to accept the more modern plug that
Cecil Acuff sent me, a fairly painless thing but time
consuming. Next time I'll hire a secretary to do my
filing!

I've got the transmission oiled up so I can tune it by
running my thumb around the outside of the KC CHANGE
knob, but it still feels notchy,..... must have missed
something somewhere.

Its in bad need of a tune-up, has some dirty switches,
background "white noise" is loud on all bands but goes
away when a signal is received.

The sound is much better than the R-390A, even without
peaking the filters, it needs that.

The audio freqs received are better at the center
freq, as deteremined by the BFO, but the station is
louder a few KC's lower, not sure I understand that.

Too much backlash, but I see some of the split gears
aren't loaded properly. MC gear is only catching one
half of the set, KC is loose but didn't lose the
springs, yet. No spring on the PTO coupler.

All this with very weak 6082's!

Joe
