Sounds like you need to lube the whole transmission.

The MC CHANGE detent is adjustable, just loosen the
screws and move it closer to the detent wheel.

Some times the wheel will wear a slot in the detent
spring, if this is happening you can move the spring
to another area to wear on by putting washers between
the spring and its mounting plate.
