[R-390] What to do now

I have discovered an interesting thing while cleaning the gear train on my  
Motorola 56. The split gear #59 on the drawing seems to be out of 
specification.  This is the gear on the center bottom cam shaft. The two halves fit  
together fine but the snap ring will not go down into the groove. It was like  that 
when I disassembled it and may have been built like that. Seems to have  held 
up that way for almost 50 years. It looks like the individual gear halves  are 
too thick. What would be the general suggestion to do here? These gears are  
stainless and would be hard to sand down to fit. I thought this was most  
interesting to find a manufacturing defect like this.
