We did abide by strict rules a year ago and look what happened....if you
were here then. The damned list dried up, a lot of great old time members
left in disgust, and we maybe had one message every few days or so. I can
see the 'totally out of control' viewpoint, but I think everyone has to see the
'dried up, no humor, dead list' view too....since we experienced it here.
Maybe if everyone looked at the list as a group of real, live people it would
help. For instance, would any of us care to chat and ask questions from a
roomful of humorless experts who only allow R-390 talk? Hell no. People
smile, joke, and break the ice. They do the same things here too.
Or, you could go to the pay list and see how you like that for a while. I was
on it for a couple of years because they overlooked charging me and I just
ended up staying. From what I remember, a person could be run out of
town for asking an antenna question fer crying out loud. The 'stay on topic'
goons would descend on you like stink on s*it. If someone is really that
adverse to humor, or others enjoying the humor, that is a good list to join
and ask R-390 questions. There are enough experts over there. It's cheap
to join.
This list was miserable and on deaths door when humor was banned. Let's
not suck the life out of the list again, digest or no digest. I keep hoping that
all of the old crew finds us again.
