[R-390] First they chased off Nolan...

Everyone,
As a recent subscriber to the list I would like to point out that you
guys are your own worst enemies. Why can't you accept others technical
opinions with an open mind, why the personal attacks over capacitors and
ballast tubes. Your negativity towards one another is what is killing
this hobby. These conflicts are in every group but just sit back, take
a breath and think. Stay away from personal attacks and keep your
opinions to yourselves and don't use the list for venting. When the
experienced members leave who will the complainers look to for advice?
You will even close the door to those of us that enjoy our 390's. I
don't know Nolan, I don't know Dr. Jerry or Dallas but if you kick a dog
often enough it will know to stay away. Some of you have done a great
job of kicking... happy? Why not transform that negative energy into
something positive... to the good of the hobby.... the way Ham Radio
once was ... 73 K4NCG

Tom,

Thanks for your courage in sending us your thoughts. This list has been

such a great inspiration to me over the past few years.... it's almost
like talking to one of your best friends every day when I see the posts.

I was crushed when Dr. Jerry in Iowa left.... he had such great
insight. I always enjoyed Nolan's posts, and was amazed at the time and

energy he spent in educating us with hours of sweat equity to prove his
point. And not long ago when Dallas Langford... who I consider "Mr.
R-390" came back, I was thrilled.

I don't think any one of us has malice in our hearts... we all have a
well deserved sense of pride in our individual accomplishments. But as
Rick Mish told me years ago... these radios are going to be working long

after we're gone.... we're only custodians of them, and we owe the
R-3xxx gear we discuss on a daily basis... and more importantly...each
other, a truly grateful respect for a truly wonderful design....

Best regards,

Paul WØAD
