This sounds like the rant of someone who thinks that civic virtues
are individualism, self-reliance and limited government - which are
not civic virtues at all but the emotions of a cave man. They have
little to do with civilization.

People who didn't go to college can't tell the difference between
an argument and a flame. They also can't tell the difference between
a fact an opinion. Well, that was 40 years ago. Now too many
college graduates can't tell the difference either.

Anybody can shotgun a receiver by recapping everything. It takes a
marksman to find the things that need fixing and leave what ain't
broke alone.

The other side of that is that if you're a marksman, you can't tell
the guy with a shotgun to put it down, 'cause he's not a marksman.

Dallas, put on the mental Nomex suit and continue to try to teach
us something. Every classroom has its disruptive students.

Sorry it had to come to this. Trying to run someone off because
they rub you wrong is the first step in the collapse of civilization.
Talking it over in civil language is what holds us together. And we'd
better hold together because there isn't room on this planet for 8
billion self-reliant individuals. Self-reliant? A city wouldn't last
a week without all the people who make it work.

You know what Dallas,  your statistics and retired professor BS is just
that.  I restored a early 60's Teledyne that had several cracked brown
caps just like Walter posted, and the kicker here is that the radio was
NOT abused.  It came to me in FINE condition.  All caps were tested on
a Sencore LC75 that was in good working condition and most caps were showing
 leakage.  You stupid college professors think you are high and might but
lack common sense half the time.  Book smart does not always apply to
the real world.  Maybe instead of ripping a fine gentleman like Walter
you should find the real cause of the discrepancy....like maybe you need
glasses.  Sad part is I used to respect you.  Now i think you are a Jerk.
Dan Arney is about as respected as anyone on this list and has rebuilt
many radios you call "Unrebuildable".  Is he a liar also?
We don't give a crap about  your math.  Maybe you should look for
other reasons for the discrepancies before you rip everyone here.
Do us all a favor and unsub yourself.
