[R-390] Ah, now I see!

After 12 years of owning a R-390A I have FINALLY been
given a R-390/URR!!  Another will follow when it gets
dug out of the shed.  Happy day, happy day, happy day!

Its a Collins from the '51 contract, serial #1531,
with no meters.  It seems to have very little use as
all the controls are tight and there is no moon around
the MG knob.  It has a Cosmos PTO and the IF deck was
MFP'd in  '54 which doesn't match the rest of it.  I
haven't found a power cord yet, have to go back and
ask for it I guess.

The front panel cleaned up nicely, and the
transmission responded well to oiling, very smooth KC
change, MG is tight and snaps into the detent firmly.

But looking at the insides I see only a few
similarities between this and the "A" model.  What a
difference!
