For what it's worth -- since the fed's (FCC) will be making millions and 
millions (read billions) of $$$$$$
on the auctions of the present TV channel spectrum to private industry, I 
think its only fair that they either reimburse us for our conversion costs 
or provide us with free converters. The cost can come out
of the $$$$$$ that they will be reaping.
