[R-390] R725 or R390A or what?

I did not get the entire receiver just the main chassis.  It had the
aluminum box on the back and notes on the unit indicated it was a modified
AGC control unit.  Is this the box that he has and I wonder how it hooks
up??  It is all discrete transistor.  What is a Pollyanna???
