Hi

About all I can directly swear to is that there are a couple hundred 
hams out there who were $3 to $5 poorer in 1968-69.  Most all of them 
said they were going to take them home and make a VFO out of them. The 
main idea was that the Collins PTO was more stable than what you might 
find in other radios of the era.

Of course I have no idea what happened after I got my $5 ....
