Agree with that approach, especially since you can still find great old
mono hifi amps and speakers at most hamfests and this is a great way to put
them to use.  The current issue of QST also has an article on building your
own high quality speaker system, sounds like a good winter project, either
with an external amp or with a 70 volt line transformer.
