[R-390] BC series off topic rant

Don't we get to reminisce a while on the BC series radio?  The BC-459 was my
first 40 meter cw transmitter.  I had a homebrew power supply under the
desk.  I would kick the power supply switch on to transmit.   Later I
coupled the BC-459 into my Knight T-60 for a VFO.

Never used the receivers.  I don't think they had any selectivity.

Anyone actually use these in an aircraft during the war?
