[R-390] Front Panel Lerttering

I have a 390A that I think was manufactured around 1957 by Motorola. 
The front panel is a blue/green color (original to the primer) which I 
think is for the Navy.  The front panel is engraved and the lettering is 
black.  This surprised me as I thought it should be white lettering.  I 
repainted the panel and was getting ready to fill in the engraving with 
black when I saw a picture of an identical one on the internet with 
white lettering.  Which is right?  Or are both original?  Anyone have 
any ideas?
