Normally you get a mail each time someone sends a message to the mailing
list. In digest mode you will get one (normally) message each day with
all mails sent to the mailing list that day. So instead of, say 20,
mails, you get one big mail with a total of 20 mails in it. Some prefer
this, other to get a mail each time a mail is sent.
