[R-390] Never heard the real R-390

Hi all,

As I was tuning around this morning on my NRD545, I was 
thinking about the R-390A I am waiting to arrive in the near
future?  I used the R-390 in the Navy back in the 60's and 
70's and as I reminisced, I realized that I never really 
heard the true sound quality of the R-390 receiver in those
days.  Why? Because I always used those cheap head phones 
that had a round piece of metal that vibrated to produce the 
sound.  Sure, sometimes we had an R-390 on a speaker, but
the speaker was just as cheap as the ear phones.

So I am looking forward plugging in my own R-390A shortly
and actually hearing what everyone is talking about.
