[R-390] The politics of BPL

Expert is all relative.

I'm a computer professional by degree and 17 years trade.

I CANNOT see BPL providing twice the 0.7MBps that I'm getting by cable.

The power lines and the BPL systems "shouldn't be able to do THAT
without causing so much interference that they WILL get yanked.

Digital signals are the WORST for broadband interference! It is PURE
square wave instantaneous switching. It's RFI is phenomenal!

How long has it been active? I, too, wonder what cable's counter attack will include. Surely, they have to be worried. I've read claims of twice existing cable speeds being possible, and a market commoditization price of 20 bucks! That would wipe out cable internet and DSL pricewise, and bandwidth-wise. I haven't done much research yet, but have encountered a few blurbs here and there.
