[R-390] Bandwidth

Hi

Hey, that R1051 you put the LED's in is still running nice and bright.
It came up here earlier today as a matter of fact !

I totally agree that either modes one or two are far to be preferred to
mode three which is what we often get here and on a lot of other lists
as well.

In defense of those who objected I don't think the good old I don't
have enough bandwidth argument came up this time. It's certainly has
come up in the past though and probably will come up again next time we
go through all this.

I think what happened this time was that the volume of mail this list
is capable of actually became apparent. We used to get these kind of
daily volumes from time to time but not very often. The thing that made
the difference this time is that we pretty much all have a lot of
bandwidth at our disposal. I sit here with a lap top doing other stuff
but watching what's going on. With broadband 10 megabit connections,
being on all the time is pretty darn easy.

More or less "bandwidth made me do it ...".

	Take Care!
