[R-390] Ballast Tube Thread

Hi, happy 4th, since TO was mentioned along with R-390 ballast tube, I feel
remotely justified in remembering and mentioning that the RAL-7 and related
receivers had a biggg ballast type 876 tube. But this one could be switched out
easily from the front panel of the power supply when deemed unnecessary. This
is in the room heater category so in the winter it's nice and I think even when
switched "out" it continues to draw some current from the input line, maybe an
amp or two. It's on the line side of the power transformer. So far the one I
got with the set still works - don't know how easy it would be to find one but I
don't think the demand is too high. Dan.
