[R-390] Ballast Tube Thread

Yeah -- you're joking but truth is stranger than foolin' around. There were
those hot dog cookers that were popular years ago -- latest technology.
Consisted of two rows of metal -- buss bars, I guess, with tangs for six
dogs, all inside a heat resistant plastic box with a clear lid. The two
bars were each hooked to one side of the AC line through the line cord. No
switch. (I think there was one built into the lid, so opened the circuit
when it was rasied.) You set up the desired number of hot dogs across the
skewer tang things, plugged it in and they were cooked in a few minutes. I
suppose it would have worked on kielbasa. Of course you don't need all
that, just hook up each end of the wurst in question to a line cord.

Only problem with the kielballast idea is that as the carefully cut length
of the thing dries out, resistance will tend to drift upward. Probably not
enough current to cook the thing.
