Bob: Where in Manassas do you live? I'm just south of Manassas in the
Mayfair development...
All: I have heard stuff as I was mobiling around Manassas, but I haven't
heard anything that sounds like wideband noise. What I hear is more like
switching power supplies (and those are becoming more and more common, with
less and less filtering...).

James and the group,
It indeed IS serious!
I've made my comments to the FCC.
I haven't had the opportunity to go to the City Council as of yet.
I want to record the interference on my reeel to reel first.
Manassas has ONLY one thing going FOR this, most of the power system
is underground.
That being said, the bursts of data can be picked up ALL OVER the
dial of the R-390As.
For those NOT in the underground system area, it MUST be horrendous.
It does, even in my area, cover some low level signals, and make
others VERY hard to copy.
My antennas are nowhere near the power feed. It is coming through
the power line itself, and then into the R-390A.
I do NOT find it worse when I turn on the E.F. Johnson TR Switch,
which is amplified. BUT to clarify once again - I live in the part that
is underground!
I wish it was portable. I could drive around and give a GOOD test
and recordings!
