    You are mostly recapping individual modules; that divides the project 
into a series of smaller subprojects none of which is very large.  A
    module can be recapped in reasonable time and the radio placed back in 
service; another module can be done at another time.

    Removal of the BFO can in the IF module makes access to several 
capacitors there much easier.  Make a notation of the connection
    points for the can's 3 leads.

    Resistors can be checked and replaced as needed; quite often they drift 
out of tolerance (usually upward).
