Ken,
I have two R 390A receivers that were from the
massacre that were brought back from the dead, they
cleaned up nicely but did require total disassembly.
Thankfully the widespread use of stainless hardware
and coated aluminum offers a great deal of protection
from the elements. I also think it depends on whether
the receiver you get was toward the top or the bottom
of the pile and how well it was treated prior to being
decommisioned. Try to inspect the inside of the RF
transformers, the hardware on the slug racks will
usually be rusted but can either be cleaned up or
replaced, usually easy to remove.
