I think it's something along the lines of "two wrongs don't make a
right". They just make the wrong moreso by leanding some sort of
credibility to it. This just adds to the confusion, and before you know
it someone is making toy soldiers from the black goo in the filter caps
and Roy has to remind someone not to open and eat the pretty, glowing
meters since the glass is dirty. I'm all for helping newbies, but I'm in
favor of giving them accurate information, not misinformation.
Keep in mind that the "two wrongs don't make a right" is in no way
related to the fact that two Wrights *did* make an airplane.... (-:
