[R-390] antenna trim red dot

Hi Jim

(third Barry of the day -- we come in three's or maybe four's) That's
another silly but "traditional" thing-- numbering Barrys.

Anyway, you are technically correct. There is the R-390 and the R-390A.
However, we found it helpful to refer to the former, highlighting it as the
"non-A" to avoid confusion.

Nevertheless, it is helpful when starting a post about the R-390 (the one
with the 6082's, L/C IF, no mechanical filters, AKA "the man's radio", etc.)
it is useful to fly the "non-A" flag, even though it is in fact, a tad
peculiar.

Funny thing -- just remembered -- my first post to this list 3 or so years
ago was about that very issue. I asked the group what is used to
distinguish between the two because it seemed that many referred to the
A-model with just "R-390" at the time, and being a newbie, it was very
confusing.

Not sure where one of my namesakes got the notion that you were anti-humor.
As long as you enjoy the list, that's qualification enough, so hell no,
please don't go...

Barry (#1, I think)

PS -- heh heh -- when I was a kid, I always wished I had a more popular
name -- like Steve, or Dave or Jim .. Then one year, there were suddenly
three of us in one class, and then 43 years later -- this list. Go
figure...)
