I used to think they were all stamped myself (before the Fowler rigs), 
but recently when I was going through a manual for a Collins mixing 
console it specifically refers to the engraved labels. Stamping sure 
would be a lot faster, but maybe engraving produces a cleaner letter or 
less distortion to the metal? This has to be related to the 
Bristo/Bristol wrench issue....
