It was the R-725/URR. which used the R-390A and a modified version of the 
R-390/URR if deck. The mechanical filters caused a phase shift in the df 
equipment which was small at the antenna, but when extrapolating it out to the source, 
it could have amounted to hendreds of miles in error. Servo Corp. of America 
manufactured the if decks (interesting fact that they were located in the 
Richmond Hill area of Long Island) this area wa also the home of several other 
defense related industries, such as American Trans Coil.

My good friend Tom Marcotte N5OFF documented this in Electric Radio several 
years ago.
