Back when I was in the Air Force 40+ years ago, they taught us that if the 
tube tester says it's bad, the tube is bad. But if the tube tester says it's 
a good tube, it ain't necessarily so.
The " best" way to test a tubes is to temporarily replace it with 
" a known good tube."
