[R-390] Finally!!!

The National Electric Code states that the neutral shall always be white or
"natural gray" ( the deletion of natural is being considered as no one
remembers its origin) In the normal polarized household outlet the neutral
is on the larger of the two power sockets, it should never show voltage if
tested between it and the equipment grounding socket on the receptacle. Many
home owner repairs may overlook the polarity of the neutral , if the lamp
lights when plugged in they believed all was well.. Can result in some nasty
situations with energized chassis on appliances. On teh staement in another
thread on this subject, if  a marina has tthe neutral reversed I'd certainly
