Friends,
Many thanks fr the replys on the FT dx 400, as well as
the R-1051 question.
Yes, I have a manual for the yaesu, and I got a bit
confused...I didn't know about the separate rec/trans
set-ups at all..
Seems the receiver was designated FR, the transmitter
was FL.. the >TRANSCEIVER< was the FT.., which is the
manual I have..If needed by anyone, let me know..I'll
send it on up..
The reason for the inquiry on the 1051 is that I want
(you are familiar with that, maybe??) something new
(to me), to play with and enjoy, so I am thinking
along the 1051 line...Freq change for me is NO prob at
all..I never tune much, on the 390, until I have found
it on the SP 600 anyway, unless its real rare SSB..and
I also have the much faster and more accurate DX 394
to hunt and it full scans extremely nice, as well. I
would simply use the 1051 for listening after I
decided a freq, and since I do so much SSB, on the ham
bands, its perfect..I assume I need one that has been
gone through at least to some degree...True?? maybe
checked real well and lined up?? Maybe that would
bring the price up to out of my area???
I havn't decided on anything..in any event..After all
I do still want to eventually get a 390a...
THANKS!!! to those who answered..the result of which
is that there are 1051's around, so I will be in touch
with someone. I am still looking at other radios as
well. I just don't want to get another I can't handle
like the strange problem I had with my "blue striper"
I ended up trading..(My FIRST!!... R-390a...) I don't
know if that problem has ever been "fixed"...wasn't
the last I heard..
My Regards to the List! John (JLAP)
